Organic Wellness Unveils Farmer-Linked Retail Model for National Expansion; Opens Experiential Store in Gurugram

Organic Wellness Products Private Ltd on February 15 inaugurated its exclusive, company-owned experiential outlet in Gurugram, positioning it as a demonstration hub for a decentralised, self-employment-driven retail expansion model. The store is designed to allow aspiring entrepreneurs to understand store operations and business mechanics before replicating the format in their own cities and territories.

The company has outlined plans to expand this model to 5,000 retail outlets across India. At full scale, the network is projected to support 5,000 owner-operators and create nearly 15,000 direct retail jobs, with additional employment generated across farming, processing, packaging and logistics. The model is aimed at unemployed youth and women, offering a low-investment pathway into wellness retail while strengthening farmer linkages.

In a symbolic gesture reflecting its farmer-centric philosophy, the store was inaugurated by the elderly mother of a Bundelkhand farmer, in the presence of farmers who supply organic produce to the company. The ceremony underpinned the organisation’s stated commitment to integrating farmers into value chains beyond raw material supply, linking cultivation directly to retail-led income generation.

Speaking after the inauguration, Krishan Gupta, Managing Director, Organic Wellness, said, “This store represents a larger vision of distributed growth. Our effort is to ensure that farmers are not at the margins of the economy but active participants in value creation. By combining rural sourcing with micro-entrepreneurship in retail, we aim to create sustainable income opportunities for unemployed youth and women across the country.”

He added, “The Gurugram experiential outlet will serve as a practical learning centre where prospective entrepreneurs can see firsthand how a small-format wellness store can operate with minimal investment, while remaining anchored to farmers and rural production systems.”

The experiential outlet showcases a portfolio of over 250 food, health and wellness products, including nutritional and wellness formulations derived from organically sourced farm produce from farmers of Babai village in Bundelkhand, Madhya Pradesh and processed there at the Company’s unit. Several of these products are currently exported to multiple international markets, reflecting the company’s seed-to-shelf approach.

The company indicated that its expansion strategy is built around strengthening farmer linkages, promoting self-employment, and building a distributed employment ecosystem rooted in rural India. According to the company, the Gurugram outlet will serve as a national reference point for future partners as Organic Wellness scales its distributed employment model, combining farmer empowerment, self-employment and export-linked growth.
