SLCM bags SCMPro Demand Planning and Forecasting Award

Sohan Lal Commodity Management (SLCM), India’s leading agri services solutions provider has been conferred the “4th SCMPro Demand Planning and Forecasting Award 2018” in “Best Demand Planning and Forecasting Practices in Agri” category for demonstrating best demand planning and forecasting function within the organisation. The award was presented at the fourth annual ‘Demand Planning and Forecasting Forum’ held in Mumbai recently.

Organised by Institute of Supply Chain Management (ISCM) along with SCMPro, the Demand Planning and Forecasting awards (DPFF Awards) seeks to acknowledge organisations for successful demonstration of their commitment to excellence in all aspects of their operations, provides a platform to showcase innovative business practices and create an avenue for benchmarking their achievements against their peers. It recognises the best practices that corporate entities have adopted in demand planning and forecasting function as well as in sales and operational planning in 8 award categories, and in the process rewards their strategy, performance, and goals.
SLCM is equipped with technology to offer storage and protection services for the entire range of agri-commodities. It has been handling about 873 agriculture commodities including rice, wheat, maize, mustard, pulses, cotton, barley, bajra, castor seeds, spices among various other commodities across India. As on June 2018, SLCM manages a technology enabled network of more than 2,835 warehouses and 19 cold storages pan India spread over 48.70 million sq. ft. area with a capacity of more than 662.62 million MT.
The Group has also applied for patenting its scientific technology of storage – AGRI REACH. The efficacy of ‘AGRI REACH’ has been attested in a study conducted by industry body FICCI that found that storage losses could be reduced from 10 percent to a minimal 0.5 percent using the technology.
The Group also has a wholly owned NBFC – Kissandhan – in India which has changed the paradigm of collateral financing by financing across diversified agri products whilst being agnostic to balance sheet of the borrower yet complying with the prudential norms of RBI. In a short tenure, Kissandhan has already financed more than Rs 1570.21 crore for multiple commodities pan India. It has benefitted about 34,3806 farmers till May 2018.
