CNH Industrial marks 25 years of New Holland in India; gives special impetus to precision technology
Along with precision technology, CNH Industrial sees high potential in the sugarcane harvesting machinery segment in the cane-growing states and baling solutions for crop residue management in North India

Greater Noida: CNH Industrial, a global leader in agricultural and construction machinery solutions, marked the 25th year of operation of its brand, New Holland Agriculture in India. Since its inception, the brand has been at the forefront of introducing cutting-edge technological advancements to the country’s agricultural sector. New Holland, a market leader in the segment, has pioneered the baling technique for crop residue management and curbing stubble burning.

As part of the celebrations, the company showcased its wide range of farm equipment at its Greater Noida manufacturing plant, including tractors, combine harvesters and balers. CNH also presented its local R&D capability by demonstrating precision technology, including telematics and software apps, developed and integrated across product segments by its India Technology Center.

“The Greater Noida manufacturing facility is one of the most advanced tractor manufacturing facilities in India, with an annual production capacity of over 60,000 tractors. The plant operates according to the company’s CNH Business System which drives greater accountability, agility, efficiency and safety and is aligned with the country’s Make-in-India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives, delivering over two decades of continuous production for both domestic and export markets. Recently, it achieved the impressive production milestone of over 6.7 lakh tractors,” the company said.

Along with precision technology, CNH Industrial sees high potential in the sugarcane harvesting machinery segment in the cane-growing states where mechanisation in harvesting process is very low. The company, under its Case IH brand, currently provides sugarcane harvesting solutions in Maharashtra while looking at Uttar Pradesh as a big potential market as mechanisation is still very low in the state. The company has invested US$ 200 million to manufacture sugarcane harvesting machinery in its Pune plant.

CNH India remains committed to sustainability and environmental stewardship. With a firm focus on reducing its carbon footprint, the plant has made significant strides, reducing approximately 26,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions over the past decade. Embracing renewable energy sources, solar panels installed at the Greater Noida plant provide 25 per cent of the facilities’ energy requirements. Furthermore, the facility has adopted the Miyawaki Project Methodology, planting over 10,000 trees of 30 different species covering 3,000 square meters,” the farm machinery giant said.
