In order to minimise the impacts of climate change, and carbon footprints on food security and to prepare a roadmap for developing long-term solutions, CII’s (Confederation of Indian Industry) Food and Agriculture Centre of Excellence (FACE) is going to organise a National Post-Harvest & Logistics Summit with the theme “Sustainably Mitigating Food Loss and climate change” on November 30, 2022 in Mumbai. The summit will be a significant forum to discuss innovations, business models and best practices adopted by organisations to mitigate food loss and minimise the impact on the environment, CII has said.
CII shall also felicitate the winners of the 7th edition of CII Cold Chain Awards, during the Post-Harvest & Logistics Summit.
CII-FACE works with the focus to improve the competence of India’s agriculture and food processing by catalysing innovation, building capacity, enhancing productivity, and establishing supply chain linkages across the food value chain, thereby ensuring food security and inclusive growth, the industry body said.

Carbon emission and climate change impact all ecosystems especially agriculture and the food value chain. The adverse impact can only be averted if actions are taken to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2070. Now, it’s high to re-think and re-formulate strategies to address climate change. There is a vital need to bring in necessary strategies to support organisations and reduce carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions for a Net Zero Future.
