The Government of India is running a Central sector scheme of financing facility under the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) to boost agriculture infrastructure relating to post-harvest management (PHM) and community farming assets in the country. Under this scheme financing facility of ₹1 lakh crore is being disbursed by the banks and lending institutions as loans to eligible beneficiaries, Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Narendra Singh Tomar said in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha on Friday.
This financing facility under Agriculture Infrastructure Fund will help agricultural produce market committees (APMC) to upgrade their infrastructure, which will benefit the farmers, the minister further informed the upper house of the Indian parliament.
