FarmERP secures top 3 finalist spot in The Asia AgriTech Challenge

FarmERP, one of the forerunners in the field of ‘technology interspersed within agriculture’ in the region of India primarily, with its presence in over 25 countries as well, has bagged a Top 3 finalist spot in The Asia AgriTech Challenge, organised by the Value Chain Capacity Network.

Regional Value Chain Capacity Building Network (VCB-N) provides professional advisory services and capacity building on Value Chain and Market System Development (VC&MSD) in Asia and the Pacific Region (APR).

The Asia AgriTech Challenge going to be organised by the VCB-N on March 19, 2021, is an international award which aims at promoting innovations in the use of ICT along the value chains and provide successful innovations in a platform to showcase their products. The challenge functions at the same time as a matchmaking event between developers and providers of innovative ICT solutions and chain actors or supporters looking for ways in which we can improve the chain functioning while making it increasingly resilient and future-proof. Asia AgriTech Challenge provides a platform to interact with like-minded people with exposure to state-of-the-art agritech innovations.

FarmERP has bagged the spot for finalists in ‘IT Innovation in support of VC supply-demand arrangements/marketing’ category. The jury board included the Department of Science and Technology – India, Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation, Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

Founded in 1996, Shivrai Technologies, the parent organisation of FarmERP, is a tech firm that was the brainchild of two young first-generation entrepreneurs, Sanjay Borkar and Santosh Shinde. Hailing from an agricultural background, Sanjay and Santosh worked towards building Shivrai Technologies to what it is today.

FarmERP aims to add two million agricultural stakeholders to its platform in the next 14 months. Catering to various domains within the agricultural value chain and has multiple different uses. Its solutions cater to multiple sub-verticals like contract farming, farm management, plantation and farm, biotech and tissue culture, organic farming, greenhouse, hydroponics, floriculture, among a host of others, with stakeholders from government institutions, farmer producer organisations (FPOs), farmer producer companies (FPCs), agribusinesses and agriculture consultants. The winners of the award would be announced on March 19, 2021.
