MoFPI approves 28 food processing projects spread over 10 states
These projects are expected to create a processing capacity of 1,237 MT daily while generating employment for over 10,000 people

The Inter-Ministerial Approval Committee (IMAC) meeting chaired by Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, Narendra Singh Tomar has approved 28 projects, with project costs of Rs 320.33 crore, additionally supported with a grant of Rs. 107.42 crore by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) under the CEFPPC (Creation/Expansion of Food Processing & Preservation Capacities) Scheme. These projects spread over 10 states are likely to generate employment for nearly 10,000 people.

Tomar chaired the IMAC meeting through video conference to consider projects under the CEFPPC scheme under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY) for necessary grants-in-aid. Rameswar Teli, Minister of State, Food Processing Industries was also present in the meeting. Promoters of the scheme attended the meeting virtually.

According to MOFPI, these 28 projects will create a processing capacity of 1,237 MT daily and are spread across the states of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Maharastra, J&K, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Assam, and Manipur. These projects include six projects of north eastern states with project costs of Rs. 48.87 crore supported with a grant of Rs. 20.35 crore by MoFPI.
