Garuda Aerospace signs MoU with Rallis India to run pilot demonstration and spraying of pesticides
Rallis India will supply pesticides and crop nutrients to Garuda Aerospace for a pilot demonstration and spraying of pesticides on fields through drones mainly in the state of Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh

Garuda Aerospace, India’s leading drone manufacturing company recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Rallis India, a subsidiary of Tata Chemicals and, a leading player in the agriculture industry. Rallis will supply pesticides and crop nutrients to Garuda Aerospace for a pilot demonstration and spraying of pesticides on fields through drones mainly in the state of Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.

This partnership between Garuda Kisan Drones and Rallis India will help leverage the key strengths of both parties. While Garuda Aerospace is known to provide drone solutions in the agriculture sector, Rallis India is known for its penetrative distribution network for agrochemicals and seeds.

The drone pilots will conduct demonstrations on approximately 1,000 acres of land on crops such as paddy, onion, Bengal gram, wheat and vegetables. This drone-based solution will also enable businesses to achieve their sustainability goals by helping drive the efficient use of resources.

Highlighting the collaboration, Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO, Garuda Aerospace said, “As we embark into a new year and a new journey, Garuda Aerospace is extremely excited to collaborate with Rallis India. The partnership will demonstrate end-to-end drone service solutions to farmers and channel partners. This shall also make agri operations convenient for drone pilots to conduct better demonstrations for the farmers. We seek to make farmers Atamanirbhar (self-reliant) and create employment opportunities for them. Garuda is known to provide low-cost drone-based solutions, as well as related software and analytical tools, to help businesses boost productivity and cut expenses.”

Speaking on the collaboration, S Nagarajan, Chief Operating Officer, Rallis India said, “With the technology revolution upon us, we are moving towards a tech-adapted environment rapidly. At Rallis India, we have initiated trials and experiments of our product approvals for label expansion for drone spray. It would be an emerging segment for the industry and we plan to emerge fast in this segment. This is being done in collaboration with service providers for drone application in the crop protection and crop nutrition sectors.”

“In line with this approach, this collaboration is aimed at not only educating farmers and channel partners but also providing first-hand experience of the advantages of drone applications. We are continuously focused on making farming more resilient. We are certain that this collaboration will further augment this endeavour,” Nagarajan added.

Garuda Aerospace boasts a fleet of 400 drones and a trained team of over 500 pilots in 26 locations across the country while Rallis India holds a strong distribution network for crop care and seeds, Crop care range reaches farmers through a network of 4,000 dealers and 60,000 retailers while seeds are sold through 2,500 dealers and 40,000 retailers, covering 80 per cent of all the districts of India and has customers in over 58 countries; over various crop segments and across the cultural and linguistic borders.
